DESCRIPTION:This past Wednesday I heard on the radio the most foolish ignorance
contaminating the eloquent, heartfelt truths spoken by a KPFA guest and
Pulitzer Prize winning journalist, Aaron Glantz. Glantz himself spoke both
the truths and the foolishness. Glantz' new book, Home Wreckers, identifies
the vile-acting vultures--many alive and well in the Trump
Administration--who feasted on the home foreclosures following the 2008
real estate collapse. The author detailed how these financial opportunists
wrangled real estate wealth away from hundreds of thousands of Americans.
True enough. But then Glantz decried this loss because real estate wealth
was the best sort of personal wealth cache for the general
population.\n\nWrong! The great aspect of real estate wealth lies in land
values, not home values; and land values are a socially-produced item, not
a personally-produced item. In short, Glantz defends the privatization of
land values! Trump could wish no more eloquent champion for the principle
he lives by: It's my land and my land values.\n\nCome on a FREE walking
tour of San Francisco social movement history that reveals the
self-defeating allegiance of Leftie Politics Advocates to "leaving land
values out of discussion." The walk inaugurates that discussion.\n\nThe
Earth. Your place or mine? How about ours?\n
