DESCRIPTION:Lots of good history and anecdote regarding women gets told in March,
National Women's History month, but on the first of April the rent will be
due and billions of women the world over will shovel over their labor in
various guises to the males of the planet for mere permission to use ground
space.\n\nCome along on a walking tour exploring a San Francisco originated
idea for setting history on a different course regarding who pays whom to
use geography.\n\nThe walk opens as a survey of San Francisco social
movement history, but quickly evolves into an inquiry into how the private
ownership of land value shapes society; from there the walk explores the
1879 San Francisco proposal to socialize land values through a massively
adjusted property tax. Even if only publicly deliberated, the proposal
would significantly liberate women from categorical economic oppression
rooted in gender bias. Fully implemented, the proposal would go immensely
far in liberating women and men from privilege-based, real-estate-fixed,
 second-class citizenship.\n\nFREE. \n
