DESCRIPTION:UCSC TAKE BACK THE NIGHT 2019!\n\nA series of events to provide healing 
 spaces for survivors and bring our community together in the movement to 
 end sexual violence. We welcome survivors and those in solidarity with 
 survivors to attend. Folks of all genders are welcome!\n\nMARCH & 
 RALLY\nTuesday, April 23 | 5:30pm @ Quarry Plaza\nMarch to Oakes Learning 
 Center at 6pm\n\nDemonstrate your commitment to end violence by rallying 
 with us! The march will begin at 5:30PM, starting at Quarry Plaza, then we 
 will be marching to Oakes College at 6PM. Bring your own sign in support of 
 survivors! Accessibility vehicle will be provided. Please contact 
 women@ucsc.edu if you would like a ride. \n\n\nFREE DINNER | 6:30pm @ Oakes 
 Learning Center\nvegan & gluten-free options will be provided. 
 \n\n\nHEALING ART SPACE | 7-9pm @ Oakes Guzman Room\nWe will have crafts 
 and light refreshments for those who would like to attend the event, but 
 not participate in the Speakout or  need a space to decompress. 
 \n\n\nSurvivor Speakout with special keynote by Tani Ikeda \n7pm @ Oakes 
 Learning Center\n\nABOUT TANI IKEDA\nTani Ikeda is an Emmy winning director 
 who creates narratives, documentaries, music videos, and commercial films. 
 She was recently selected as one of Sundance's 2018 intensive screenwriting 
 lab's fellows and was also named one of Film Independent’s 33 Emerging 
 Filmmakers as a Project: Involve Directors Fellow. Ikeda was an Executive 
 Producer and Director on the Blackpills Documentary TV Series "Resist" with 
 Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors about the fight against LA 
 County's 3.5 billion dollar jail plan. Ikeda has directed films in China, 
 Uganda, India, and the United States. Her work has been recognized in The 
 Hollywood Reporter, Teen Vogue, Cosmopolitan magazine and has screened 
 internationally at festivals around the world including the Sundance Film 
 Festival.\n\nAt the age of 21, Tani Ikeda co-founded imMEDIAte Justice, a 
 nonprofit that fosters the talents of young women artists working in 
 virtual reality. She is the current executive director of imMEDIAte Justice 
 and was named one of the “25 Visionaries Who are Changing Your World,” 
 by the Utne Reader. ImMEDIAte Justice has received national attention on 
 CNN, NBC, and Univision. Ikeda tours the country speaking at universities 
 and national conferences about storytelling as a tool for social 
 justice.\n\nTani holds a Bachelors Degree in Film Production from the 
 University of Southern California and currently resides in Los 
 Angeles.\n\n\n\nACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION\n\nThe Oakes Learning Center is 
 located across from the Oakes Upper Lawn on the ground floor. There are all 
 gender restrooms located in the Oakes Academic building and two gendered 
 restrooms that can be accessed via stairs or an elevator behind the venue.
