DESCRIPTION:12/29 Berkeley Press Conference/Rally: Hands Off Julian Assange! Free Him
NOW! KPFA LSB Defend Julian Assange And Call For His Freedom
 NOW!\n\n\nSaturday, December 29, 2018, 10:15 AM\nBerkeley Press
 Conference/Rally\nBerkeley Library\n1901 Russell St. Berkeley\n\nThe Trump
government has now indicted whistleblower, journalist and publisher Julian
Assange and they want to arrest him and bring him to the United States for
releasing large amounts of information from Wikileaks which he founded. He
has been forced to stay in the Ecuadorian consulate for over six years by
the British government who tried to arrest him for false allegations of
rape in Sweden. This investigation of alleged rape was in fact was a
charade to allow the British to arrest him. The UK-US inspired
investigation has been dropped with no charges, yet the May British
government is still intent on arresting him.\nThe exposures of Wikileaks
showed the war crimes of the US in Iraq and around the world. It has
exposed politicians including Hillary Clinton who was involved with Obama
in overthrowing the government of Honduras and installing a military coup
which has led to the forced migration. It also showed that as Secretary of
State she had coerced Bulgaria and other Eastern European to allow Chevron
to do fracking on their countries.\nThe threat arrest and jail Julian
Assange threatens all journalists, whistleblowers, and publishers who
publish government documents. It could be used by the Trump administration
to jail journalists, editors and publishers of the NYT, Washingon Post and
certainly journalists at KPFA and the Pacifica network.\n\nFor this reason,
the Pacifica National Board voted 12 to 0 to join Oliver Stone, Daniel
Ellsberg, Ken Loach, and Chris Hedges to support the resolution calling for
the defense and freedom of Julian Assange yet the KPFA LSB majority in
Berkeley refused to call for his defense and freedom. \nEven the UN experts
have urged UK to honour rights obligations and let Mr. Julian Assange
leave Ecuador embassy in London freely\nWe call on all supporters of Julian
Assange and all supporters of journalists, publishers and whistleblowers to
join us on Saturday, December 29, 2018, to call for the KPFA LSB to reverse
their decision and support the defense of and freedom for Julian
Assange.\nKPFA and Pacifica have reason to stand strongly for Assange. The
growing government repression threatens free speech and all media outlets
that expose government crimes and government corruption.\nLet's join the
Pacifica National Board in the defense of Julian
 Assange.\nhttps://pacifica.org/documents/Press%20Release-Pacifica%20supports%20Julian%20Assange%202018-10-07%20(1).htm\n\nSponsored
