DESCRIPTION:Join community, elected officials and the Rapid Response Network in Santa 
 Clara County at a rally and press conference to expose ICE’s inhumane and 
 unlawful use of its field office in Morgan Hill to tear families 
 apart.\n\nIn the past three weeks, ICE arrested dozens of family members, 
 processed and detained them in Morgan Hill—all without access to counsel 
 and in dangerous conditions. Network attorneys went to the field office and 
 learned from ICE officers that they were holding dozens of people in vans 
 for extended period of times, in violation of ICE’s own regulations. One 
 community member was forced to sit in a car for 4-5 hours, out in the cold, 
 between 7am and 1pm. Meanwhile, ICE officers interrogated him and pressured 
 him into signing a deportation order.\n\nICE and CBP are notorious for the 
 inhumane treatment of immigrant children, youth and adults and for 
 violating their right to due process. As reports circulate regarding the 
 tragic death of a transgender woman and more recently a 7-year-old child in 
 immigration custody, it is imperative that we act to end this horrific 
 practice of putting immigrants in cages, especially when it takes place in 
 our own backyard. Their actions are shocking and appalling and we must hold 
 ICE in Morgan Hill accountable.\n
