DESCRIPTION:The Human Cost - a visual body of work by Pablo Piovano documenting the
effects of glyphosate (Monsanto's Round-Up) on the field workers of
Argentina - will be shown for the first time in California at Chilao
School's opening event on April 7.\n\nPablo Piovano has received awards and
recognition in Europe for his body of work known as The Human Cost.  But
it has never been seen in the United States.  So the first public showing
of Pablo Piovano's artistic, tragic photographic documentary, The Human
Cost, will have its debut at Chilao School on April 7. \n\nPiovano's body
of work documents the effect of glyphosate on the human population of
Argentina's agricultural laborers. Augusto Loggia and Marcela Dreiman will
present the work after 12 PM as a part of Redbird's first event of the 2018
season. \n\nChilao School is located in the heart of the Angels National
Forest in Los Angeles County, accessible from the 210 freeway in La Canada
Flintridge. Everyone is welcome to attend. There is no admission fee, and
there will be refreshments. Donations are appreciated but never demanded.
\n\nPiovano's work is compelling, provocative, immediately engaging. You do
not stand apart from his subjects. You feel them; their anguish, their
laughter, their bewilderment, their acceptance, their love for each other.
All those emotions and many more are palpable in this body of work. \n\nThe
Human Cost will be presented as a part of Birds and Bees, Bears and
Butterflies, an environmental learning day hosted by the Native American
and environmental non profit Redbird with support from Southern California
Edison. \n\nThis is a family friendly event which will include a live
monarch display with butterflies in all stages of development,
presentations on our local wildlife and habitat, story telling and cultural
presenters. Additional presentations offering either or both biological and
cultural insight and wisdom about our California fauna are welcome, as well
as artists of all disciplines. This is an opportunity to get acquainted
with the forest and its community and share valuable knowledge. \n\nOn-site
tent, RV and vehicle camping is available for the weekend. Please email for
 additional
 information.\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/3350630736...\n\nEmail -
