DESCRIPTION: History as the story of universal progress from oppression to liberty
began, according to the story, about 3,200 years ago.\n\nCome join in a
community Seder retelling the historic story of emancipation for many
strands of humanity, and a Seder pointing the way to a comprehensive,
practical Promised Land for all people.\n\nSeder is the evening supper
celebrating Passover, that quasi-historic, certainly legendary story of
Moses leading the Hebrew people out of slavery in ancient Egypt, and on
their way to the land of Canaan. It's a moving story of humanity's dignity
and just desserts in occupying a secure geography.\n\nAt this Multi-plex
Seder of Our Times, participants will pick up a script (Haggadah) of their
choice and participate in a parallel interactive supper retelling of\n\nthe
emancipation of African-Americans, featuring Sojourner Truth as Moses, and
"forty acres and a mule" as the Promised Land; or\n\nthe emancipation of
the Irish from English colonialism 1845-1851, featuring Dr. Nulty, Bishop
 of Meath, as Moses, and The Irish Land League as the Promised Land;
or\n\nthe emancipation of the evicted, displaced, and homeless of San
Francisco, featuring Henry George as Moses, and the land values of San
Francisco as the Promised Land; or\n\nthe emancipation of 19th century
care-worn, indigent Chinese emigrants, featuring Sun-yat Sen as Moses, and
Hong Kong under renewed Chinese rule as the Promised Land; or\n\nthe
emancipation of Mexican "illegals", featuring Lazaro Cardenas as Moses, and
anti-latifundia as the Promised Land; or\n\nthe emancipation of
Palestinians, featuring an as yet unidentified figure as Moses, with
Palestine as the Promised Land; or\n\nthe classic tale of the emancipation
of the Hebrews from slavery in Egypt, featuring Moses as Moses, and Israel
as the Promised Land.\nFor more event
