DESCRIPTION:Sunday February 25, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. \nArtistic intervention titled
Egg Puja with international performance artist Paula Kohatsu.\n\nKohatsu
(see photos below) will offer an Egg Puja to honor the sculpture Digital
DNA. The sculpture, slated to be removed by the city of Palo Alto, is in
the shape of a seven foot tall egg and is a symbol of Eros (sexual
instinct) and Thanatos (death instinct). A puja is a ritual of devotional
worship. \n\nThe ritual will bring audience participation and a collective
wrapping process of the artist to the egg as a sacrifice of endurance to
keep the art alive where it belongs and where it has been for the past 13
years. \n\nThe artist will be tied to the sculpture by the public. \n\nFor
more information on the sculpture and/or to sign a petition to save it from
the city ordered demolition visit URL below.\n
