DESCRIPTION:The Green Party of Alameda County (GPAC) presents at its March 11th "Green
Sunday" the "War of Words: Does Patriarchy Still Rule over Communication in
Movements?" at the Niebyl-Proctor Marxist Library, 6501 Telegraph Avenue,
in Oakland. Green Sunday begins at 5 p.m. and ends at 6:30 p.m. \n\nIs what
we say as important as the words we use to say it? Could it be that the
Green Party has not grown in Alameda County because of a patriarchy that is
reflected in how we talk to one another? Does the movement suffer from the
same patriarchy we criticize others of having? Do how we speak and what we
say have an impact on our ability to move forward more swiftly? Join your
community as we engage in this conversation.\n\nThe presenters are: Meleiza
Figueroa of the Movement School for Revolutionaries; Vicente Cruz of the
Oakland Greens, Producer of Oakland Greens Dinner and a Movie Discussion
series, and a sports educator; and Aidan "AJ" Hill (they/them/theirs) of
the GPAC County Council and an emerging Bay Area political activist living
on the intersection of multiple identities.\n
