DESCRIPTION:The city council will be voting on rent freeze and eviction protections at 
 the upcoming city council meeting on February 13th.\n\nIf it passes, this 
 vote will implement a temporary rent freeze and eviction protections that 
 will apply until our permanent rent control ordinance is voted on by the 
 public this November.\n\nFor now, please plan on arriving around 6 PM at 
 the City Council Chambers to secure seating as we won't be allowed in the 
 room once the limited seats are full. Our item will be first on the agenda 
 at 7 PM\n\nThis is a private event so you won't be able to share it - 
 please invite supportive friends directly on this event page. The more 
 bodies we have the more clearly we send a message our elected officials who 
 are up for reelection that Santa Cruz voters show up for rent control\n\nWe 
 have a shot at passing this desperately needed rent freeze but we need your 
 vocal support to make it happen - the opposition is wealthy, vocal and will 
 certainly be pressuring city council members to vote against this.\n\nLet's 
 come out and show that the majority of Santa Cruz voters are renters and 
 supportive community members. The more vocal and connected we are, the more 
 clearly we show that we are a political force to be reckoned with.\n\nSign
