DESCRIPTION:Documentary film: "October: Ten Days that Shook the World"\n\nOn the 100th
anniversary of the Russian Revolution, this classic Soviet film by Sergei
Eisenstein (1927, 102 minutes) relives the epic events surrounding the
Bolshevik capture of state power in Russia on November 7, 1917. Named after
American journalist John Reed's popular book and eyewitness account "Ten
Days that Shook the World." The formation of the world's first socialist
state, despite its flaws, is arguably the single most earthshaking event of
the twentieth century.\n\nA brief discussion will follow the film
screening. A more extensive discussion of the significance and legacy of
the Russian Revolution will take place in Part 2 of this series on the
following Tuesday.\n\nOpen to the public | Donations
welcomed\n\nSponsored by the San Jose Peace and Justice Center, Ambedkar
King Study Circle, Rise Up for Justice, and the Peace & Freedom Party of
 Santa Clara County\n
