DESCRIPTION:What will it take to make revolution \nin the 21st century successful?
\n\nA four-week study group will explore the short book "Lessons of
October" by Leon Trotsky, based on his experience as a leader of the
Russian Revolution. Trotsky asserts that creating fundamental changes
requires a working-class party — and one that is not doctrinaire but is
able to gauge and respond to swiftly changing conditions. His work is a
valuable resource for activists who want to understand the dynamics of
today’s “pop-up movements” and upsurges like the Arab Spring. \n\nThe
group will be offered at two different sessions: \n\nWednesdays, 3-4:30pm,
 on October 4, 18, and November 1, 15 or \nMondays, 7-8:30pm, on October 9,
 23, and November 6, 20.
 \n\n______________________________________________________ \n\nFor the
third meeting (November 1), please read Chapters 5 and 6: "July days,
Kornilov episode, democratic conference" and "On the eve of the October
Revolution - the aftermath" and review the study questions for these
chapters. \n\nA link to The Lessons of October online and to the Study
 Guide are available here:

donation requested per meeting \n\nSponsored by Freedom Socialist Party
