DESCRIPTION:Come hear notorious walking tour guide David Giesen once again bring the
heat to Valencia. Building on his "15 column inches of fame" in the
November issue of San Francisco magazine (see the link below), Giesen goes
guided missile on landlordism in this edition of his "conversation with the
street" (what others call his "calle and response" style of political
action).\n\nIn this episode, Giesen challenges evictees, liberals,
do-gooders, progressives, Bernie-supporters and professed Anti-fas to stand
in alliance with those who despise, abhor, and otherwise abjure Big
Government. The regulatory-happy, intrusive aspects of Big Government which
disgust Tea Party type folk is born out of Big Government's endorsement of
and protection of landlordism. By first taking away the universal
individual right to use land upon equal terms with the rest of humanity,
Big Government results from the ensuing need for regulations and charity
and dependency programs to compensate for the wealth lost by renters to
landlords in exchange for access to place/land/location. \n\nHumanity has
been oppressed by those social mores and laws which require individuals to
pay land rent to private landlords. Americans who pay land rent to private
interests are deprived of their individual natural right to use nature
without Big Government's protection of the distortionary, extortionary
practice of kingly control of land value. Where the people as a whole are
portrayed as sovereign, land rent belongs to the people as a whole, not to
interloping sovereign would-bes.\n\nIndeed, it is land rent, paid by all
occupants of the land, that properly funds the social programs of a nation
or people. And, needless to say, this revenue ought to be allocated fairly,
meaning in a fashion tantamount to democratic republicanism.\n\nCome
discuss how San Francisco's rent-racked, displaced, evicted, time-strapped
citizenry find common cause with Tea Party-type folk whose individual right
to use this earth upon equal terms with others has been abrogated by the
Big Government promoted private commandeering of land values. \n
