DESCRIPTION:Come along on a walking tour surveying social movement history in San
Francisco, and excavating the role "the search for security in geography"
plays in galvanizing social movements.\n\nIdentity politics is a point in
case. Oppressed segments of society often self-constitute ghettos or
enclaves in search of security. For instance, the LGBTQ community gathered
in San Francisco and the Bay Region precisely to achieve freedom in social
standing. Of course, some historically oppressed identities such as women
in patriarchal society cannot resort to broader geographic security, but
must form domestic patterns of haven. \n\nCome along on a walking tour
which proposes that socializing control of the economic value of land is
key to enfranchising oppressed identities, and that indeed, the end of the
private ownership of land value is fundamental to making society
 whole.\n\nFREE \n https://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2017/10/17/18803670.php
