DESCRIPTION:Though "Love Cemetery" by China Galland is set in a remote part of rural
East Texas, the story of Love—a historic black cemetery—is really a
quintessential American story of land theft, racism and environmental
destruction that plays out in different versions whether in New Orleans,
LA, Standing Rock in the Dakotas, or in the Middle East, Africa, and the
Caribbean. Ms. Galland will discuss her book and share footage from her
documentary film in progress, "Resurrecting Love." China Galland is the
prize-winning author of several non-fiction works including "Longing for
Darkness: Tara and the Black Madonna" and "The Bond Between Women: A
 Journey to Fierce Compassion." \n
