DESCRIPTION:On the third Thursday evening of each month, come to YBCA for free gallery
admission, extended hours, and live programming.\n\nThis May, YBCA invites
artist Arash Fayez—officially known as Faeiz—to explore personal and
historical notions of (Muslim) migrations using the Live Practice platform.
In his lecture-performance piece 1438, Fayez will carry out the second
chapter of his ongoing investigation into the psychoanalytic dimensions of
displacement. The artist will transform YBCA into a campsite to reflect on
the circumstances of conflict and crisis raised by displaced communities.
The evening is broken into two phases, beginning with a lecture from
5–6PM in YBCA’s Screening Room, followed by a series of live
situations. Moving between discursive and physical spaces, Faeiz considers
the relationship between place and the displaced.\n\nAbout Third
Thursday\nEvery month we invite Bay Area artists, thinkers, and culture
makers to present unique experiences that you’ll only find at YBCA. From
live performances and interventions to dialogues and discussions, third
 Thursdays promise inspiration and fun.\n
