DESCRIPTION:The Direct Action Monterey Network and the Monterey Community Education
Project work together to organize the Thinking Critically about Society
(TCAS) seminars. This spring’s seminars are facilitated by a collection
of community organizors, professors, and students who live and work on the
peninsula, covering the topics of Anarchism, Polyamory, Social Perceptions
of Disability, and Reproductive Justice.\n \nPolyamory, or Ethical
 Nonmonogamy\nFriday 14 April 2017, 7pm\nFacilitated by Stephanie Spoto\n
\n “Polyamory (from Greek πολύ [poly], meaning ‘many’ or
‘several’, and Latin amor, ‘love’) is the practice, desire, or
acceptance of having more than one intimate relationship at a time with the
knowledge and consent of everyone involved.” This discussion will explore
jealousy, sexuality, and love under capitalism.\n \nReadings (for free at
link below):\n\n Infinite Relationships – Zine\n “For Lovers and
Fighters” by Dean Spade\n Ethical Sluts by Dossie Easton and Janet W.
 Hardy\n\nFull series:\n-What is Anarchism? 7 April 7pm\n-Polyamory, or
Ethical Nonmonogamy 14 April 7pm\n-Social Perceptions of Disability 21
April 7pm\n-Reproductive Justice 28 April 7pm\n\nThese series of seminar
sessions have been put together to encourage the exchange of ideas,
experiences, and knowledge surrounding a particular topic or theme. We want
to create a place where people can meet with other people from Monterey Bay
communities to talk about current events and discuss new philosophies and
ways of thinking critically about society. Though these seminars have been
designed for non-students, and for those of us who have had little or no
college experience, everyone is invited to participate. We believe that
everyone can have something to offer to the seminars as we move through
current debates in politics and different political and social
 theories.\n\n https://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2017/04/09/18798152.php
