DESCRIPTION:In the most recent Sierra Club magazine we read a respected Harvard prof's
proposal that humanity set aside half of earth as habitat for everybody but
humans. It's called the 50/50 plan. It's about forestalling extinction of
loads of species.\n\nHow does this swan song mesh with a call for a
$15/hour minimum wage, and burnishing the middle class with Bernie ideals,
and saving social security, and doing something for Black Lives
Matter?\n\nYou're welcome to join The Commons SF in a snappy round-robin
response to this question,\n\n"What does 'This land is your land, this land
is my land' mean to you?\n\nWe of The Commons SF believe decisively
addressing that question will unite small business folk, environmentalists,
identity liberationists, union advocates, even housing rights defenders,
heck even the First Nations, in short, the lot of us.\n\nIf you want to
jump-start the unification of the "resistance to Trump movement," this
meeting is for you. Thus far San Francisco Vision, Black Lives Matter,
SEIU, the building trades, Sanctuary City, ISO, and Glide Memorial Church
haven't found a distributor (car analogy) that unifies the action of the
resistance's 240 cylinder engine. \n\nWe think responding hugely to Woody
Guthrie's refrain, "This land is your land" is key to finding the unifying
 question for all of us.\n
