 2016 at 6:00 p.m.\n\nThe recent death of community member Sean Arlt has 
 left our community with feelings of grief, dismay,\nconfusion, and anger. 
 Leaders of local social justice organizations have joined together to 
 address the\nissues of police violence, training, accountability and 
 transparency. The Social Justice Alliance of Santa\nCruz (SJA) seeks to 
 engage in the process of improving the procedures law enforcement will 
 implement\naround its interaction with people of color, people suffering 
 from mental illness and other vulnerable\npopulations.\n\nThe SJA will hold 
 a community forum to give community members an opportunity to voice 
 concerns and\nraise questions regarding Sean's death. SCPD Chief Kevin 
 Vogel and Deputy Chief Rick Martinez will be in\nattendance as part of the 
 community.\n\nThe forum is free and will take place at Peace United Church, 
 900 High Street, Santa Cruz.\n\nThe Social Justice Alliance is a coalition 
 of organizations including the Santa Cruz County Branch of the\nNAACP, the 
 Santa Cruz Chapter of the ACLU of Northern California, Barrios Unidos, the 
 Resource Center\nfor Nonviolence, Showing Up for Racial Justice Santa Cruz 
 affiliate, Santa Cruz County Community\nCoalition to Overcome Racism, Sin 
 Barras and others.\n
