DESCRIPTION:The Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors is considering a new cannabis 
 cultivation ordinance today at 1:30 pm, at 701 Ocean Street on the 5th 
 floor. \n\nHere is a message from local attorney Trevor Luxon:\n\nThe Santa 
 Cruz County Board of Supervisors is meeting to evaluate a draft set of 
 regulations which would create a cannabis cultivation licensing program for 
 the County.  The draft contains many provisions that if passed, will result 
 in the elimination through license denial of a huge portion of the 
 cultivators in the County.  \n\nI've attached a chart summarizing the basic 
 provisions of the ordinance.  Things I see as problematic are the County's 
 use of the Coastal Zone and area within a mile of it to eliminate a huge 
 portion of the County from potential cultivation, and the amount of power 
 given to the licensing official to approve or deny applications with 
 virtually no oversight.  \n\nIf you find these regulations unacceptable, 
 contact your Supervisor or come to the Board of Supervisors meeting (5th
