 led to the current wars and crises across the region, is a history that is 
 almost never mentioned in the mainstream media. 100 years ago, in the 
 middle of World War I, a secret agreement, the Sykes-Picot treaty, sliced 
 up the Middle East as colonies of Britain, France and other Western powers. 
 68 years ago, with the full backing of the U.S., the state of Israel was 
 created by driving out the indigenous Palestinian population. These events 
 set the stage for the decades of war, occupation and destruction. Join us 
 for a forum on how these events continue to impact today. Featured Speaker: 
 Richard Becker, author of Palestine, Israel and the U.S. Empire and Western 
 Regional Coordinator of the ANSWER Coalition will report back on the Second 
 International Forum on Justice in Palestine, which he attended in Tunisia 
 in April 2016, and the ongoing struggle in solidarity with the Palestinian
