 mayo a protestar contra el “Festival de la Fresa,” uno de los 
 festivales más grandes y millonarios del condado de Ventura, donde la 
 ciudad de Oxnard y los rancheros ganan miles y miles de dólares los cuales 
 no sabemos en que se utilizan esas ganancias porque en vez de valorar su 
 trabajo, lo explotan.\n\nQueremos que la gente sepa:\n-que usted 
 jornalera/o trabaja más de 10 horas y no le pagan overtime 
 (sobretiempo)\n-que usted jornalera/o tiene que caminar una distancia 
 bastante larga para poder ir al baño \n-que usted jornalera/o tiene que ir 
 a baños a pestilentes porque las compañías no los limpian seguido y no 
 los mantienen limpios\n-que usted jornalera/o no tiene una sombra para 
 poder comer \n-que muchas veces no les dan sus 10 minutos de break 
 (descanso) cada dos horas y media\n-que callan o ignoran las quejas de las 
 y los trabajadores con amenazas o pérdida de trabajo \n-que el acoso y el 
 abuso sexual existe en el trabajo\n-que usted jornalera/o padece de 
 alergias en la piel, de problemas en sus sistemas respiratorios, y que 
 probablemente padecerá cáncer por cosechar fresas que han sido regadas 
 con pesticidas dañosos de la tierra fumigada con químicos altamente 
 contaminantes. \n\nQueremos que quienes vengan al festival de la fresa se 
 den cuenta que todavía existe la explotación de las y los jornaleros, 
 quienes cosechan estas deliciosas fresas para el festival.\n\n¡ORGANÍZATE 
 Y DEFIENDE TUS DERECHOS!\n¡BOICOT DRISCOLL’S! ¡BOICOT SAKUMA!\n¡VIVA

 us! Protest the “Strawberry Festival” on May 22nd, one of the biggest 
 and greatest money-generating festivals in Ventura County, where the city 
 of Oxnard and the growers get thousands and thousands of dollars which 
 aren’t going back to the community because the farmworkers remain in 
 poverty and exploited. \n\nWe want people to know that here in 
 Oxnard:\n-Farmworkers who work 10+ hour shifts are not paid 
 overtime\n-Farmworkers have to walk long distances just to use the 
 restrooms\n-Farmworkers must use reeking, disgusting restrooms because 
 companies do not maintain clean portable restrooms on a daily 
 basis\n-Farmworkers aren’t provided with shade from the sun for rest or 
 to eat their meals\n-Farmworkers are often not given 10 minute breaks every 
 2 and a half hours\n-When making complaints about work conditions, 
 farmworkers are often silenced, ignored, threatened, or fired\n-Harassment 
 and sexual abuse exists in the workplace\n-Farmworkers are suffering skin 
 allergies, respiratory problems, and will probably suffer from cancer for 
 harvesting strawberries that have been sprayed with harmful pesticides from 
 soil that has been fumigated with highly contaminant chemicals.
