DESCRIPTION:Founded in 1957, the San Francisco International Film Festival is the 
 longest-running film festival in the Americas. Held each spring for two 
 weeks and highly anticipated by its loyal, passionate audiences, SFIFF is 
 an extraordinary showcase of cinematic discovery and innovation in one of 
 the country's most beautiful cities. SFIFF59 features 175 narrative, 
 documentary, and short films from 46 countries. The Festival will welcome 
 more than 200 filmmakers and industry guests to San Francisco, including 
 Mira Nair, David Oyelowo, Kate Beckinsale and Tom McCarthy, among many 
 others.\n\nEvent highlights include an Opening Night screening of Whit 
 Stillman’s wry Jane Austen adaptation ‘Love & Friendship’; the 
 Centerpiece presentation of James Schamus’ ‘Indignation’, based on 
 the novel by Philip Roth; and the Closing Night presentation of Bay Area 
 filmmaker Jesse Moss’ rousing documentary ‘The Bandit’, about the 
 epic friendship between Burt Reynolds and stuntman-turned-director Hal 
 Needham, running April 21st - May 5th.\n\n
