 putting together a series of events for Black History Month in honor black 
 and African history.\n\nFriday 19 February 2016, 7pm\nTheory and Philosophy 
 Reading Group XV\nStephen Biko\n\nThis month’s Theory and Philosophy 
 Reading Group will highlight the work of Stephen Biko (1946-1977). Biko was 
 an anti-racist activist in Apartheid South Africa and the founder of the 
 influential Black Consciousness Movement (BCM) which would become an 
 important component in mobilizing many of the urban black population. For 
 this session, we will be discussing his posthumously published essay 
 “Black Consciousness and the Quest for a True Humanity”
