DESCRIPTION:Join the Northern California Innocence Project (NCIP) for its ninth annual
Justice for All Awards Dinner on March 17, 2016, celebrating NCIP's 15th
Anniversary. The mission of NCIP is to promote a fair, effective and
compassionate criminal justice system and protect the rights of the
innocent. The Justice for All Awards Dinner is NCIP's largest fundraising
event of the year, which provides critical resources to help free innocent
prisoners and reform the criminal justice system. At the dinner we thank
key supporters and celebrate the accomplishments of the exonerees they have
helped to free. \n\n2016 honorees include:\nElizabeth Zitrin will accept
the Leadership Award. As president of the World Coalition against the Death
Penalty, she is a global leader on issues of criminal justice reform and
the death penalty. Since 2004, she has served on NCIP's advisory board,
providing exceptional leadership and helping shape the organization's
development over the years. \n\nExonoree Maurice Caldwell will accept the
Cookie Ridolfi Freedom Award. Maurice Caldwell was exonerated in 2011 after
spending 20 years wrongfully imprisoned. An activist for the innocence
movement, Caldwell regularly educates groups about the issue of wrongful
conviction. He has been instrumental in persuading California legislators
to pass several NCIP-sponsored bills to help protect innocent people from
wrongful conviction and make sure that those who have been wrongly
convicted receive compensation.\n\nJason Bussey and Patrick King, partners
at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, will accept the Pro Bono Award. With
their leadership and a steadfast commitment to public service, the firm has
devoted thousands of pro bono hours to NCIP on multiple cases. Simpson
worked with NCIP to obtain the exoneration of Jimmie Dick and currently has
two teams of lawyers working on behalf of two other NCIP clients.\n\n$500
 per ticket, sponsor packages available.\n
