DESCRIPTION:Attention Parents, Teachers, Administrators, Classroom Aides, High School 
 and College Students, the 5th annual conference, Creating a Peaceful 
 School, is now taking registrations. This year's topic is "Creating a 
 Peaceful School: School Climate, Classroom Community, and Student Voice".  
 It is a daylong opportunity to explore how to craft a welcoming and 
 inclusive school climate, to build a caring and supportive classroom 
 community, and to empower and respect student voice.\n\nThis year's keynote 
 speaker is Fania Davis, Ph.D., J.D., Founder and Executive Director of RJOY 
 (Restorative Justice for Oakland Youth).  She will speak on "Elevating 
 Students' Voices through Restorative Justice".  Davis is a long-time social 
 justice activist, a restorative justice scholar, professor and civil rights 
 attorney with a Ph.D. in indigenous knowledge.  She has taught Restorative 
 Justice at San Francisco's New College Law School and Indigenous 
 Peacemaking at Eastern Mennonite University's Center for Justice and 
 Peacebuilding.\n\nBreakout sessions are relevant to elementary and 
 secondary educators, school personnel and students.  They will focus on 
 sharing learning strategies, classroom lessons and school-wide ideas.  
 Continuing Education Units from St. Mary's College of Moraga will be 
 available for an additional small fee.  Additional information is available
