DESCRIPTION:What if the corporations were abolished, and the income tax raised to 100%
on income above $150,000, and the income tax on wages below $40,000 lowered
to zero, and the capital gains tax raised to 60%, and the sales tax lowered
to 0% on everything except luxury items such as yachts?\n\nWould that make
you happy?\n\nBut what if, after all that, there remained private income
from mere ownership of parts of the earth, such as the land of San
Francisco? That would be tantamount to share-cropping the earth, and all
the gains to the masses indicated by the economic proposals of the first
paragraph\nwould certainly mean that the masses would still compete for
preferred locations with their increased income (increased because of no
income tax on lower incomes, and the higher zone income taxes paying for
public transportation, for instance).\n\nCome along on a walking tour of
downtown San Francisco that exposes how most every liberal-left-socialist
economic agenda merely keeps heaping land values into the pockets of
private interests. Or, if the socialist agenda is extended to government
ownership of land, come along on this walking tour to see how the failure
to use market forces to identify land values and tax those, results in
corruption of government by special interests exerting effort to gain
privileged access to "location, location, location" without having to pay
for it. All former more thorough-going attempts at Socialism bear witness
to that species of corruption and attendant abysmal environmental
policy.\n\nThis walk reveals the insidious agenda of the opponents of city
ballot measures I and F, while at the same time exposing the hapless
program of the these measures' advocates.\n\nAnd yes, a positive proposal
is introduced in the course of the walk.\n
