DESCRIPTION:A free event, sponsored by the Starr King Unitarian Universalist Church of 
 Hayward will take place at the Castro Valley Library, 3600 Norbridge Ave., 
 Castro Valley on Sunday, August 30th, at 1:30 PM.  The Library is about two 
 blocks from the Castro Valley BART Station.\n\nTwo films discussing 
 extraction of fossil fuels through the process of fracking will be shown.  
 "Faith against Fracking" features several faith leaders who will share 
 their concerns about the procedure's effects on global warming, 
 contamination of water resources, especially during our State's severe 
 drought.  Spiritual and moral issues will be discussed.\n\nThe second film, 
 "Back Yard" contains interviews with people have lived in direct proximity 
 to fracking operations.  They will share their personal experiences, and 
 how it has affected their lives, their livestock, their pets, creeks and 
 rivers, and how it has impacted their health.\n\nShould we continue to 
 allow fracking and other extreme methods of extracting oil from the earth 
 in California?  Should it be allowed in Alameda County?  What measures can 
 those of us who oppose these procedures take?\n\nAn open discussion to 
 voice differing views will follow the showing of the films.\n\nIn 
 attendance will be some of the participants in the film, along with one of 
 the co-producers of "Faith against Fracking,"  Jessica Wohlander.\n\nFor
