\nWomen Walk the DMZ was a 30-woman international delegation who walked
with Korean women, north and south, to call for an end to the Korean War
(1950-53). They crossed the 2-mile wide Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) that has
separated millions of Korean families for decades. They also held peace
symposiums in Pyongyang and Seoul where we heard Korean women's experiences
of war and shared our experiences and ideas of mobilizing women to end
violent conflict. \nThe group included Nobel Peace Laureates Leymah Gbowee
and Mairead Maguire, writer and activist Gloria Steinem, scholars,
organizers, filmmakers, and a social media whiz who sent live bulletins via
periscope. Learn more about this historic initiative and how you can get
involved. \n\n\nSponsor: Women's International League for Peace and Freedom
 - San Francisco and East Bay Branches\n
