 \nTorture Awareness Month is recognized around the world. On June 26, 1987, 
 the Convention Against Torture (CAT) and other Cruel, Inhuman and Degrading 
 Treatment or Punishment was adopted. The UN declared June 26 
 “International Day in Support of Victims of Torture.”\n\nMore than 
 80,000 people in U.S. prisons endure solitary confinement for 23 and more 
 hours every day, for years and decades. During Torture Awareness Month, 
 please select a day and time to spend 23 hours fasting in solidarity with 
 people who face solitary confinement and other forms of torture in U.S.
