 Tayyip Erdoğan moved to demolish an historic park in the heart of Istanbul 
 to build a massive shopping mall complex in June 2013, Turkish people 
 united to occupy Gezi Park and adjacent Taksim Square – Turkey’s 
 Tahrir.  Occupy Gezi Park was more momentous than all the Occupy movements 
 in the U.S. put together.\n\nThree short films will be screened: Istanbul 
 Rising (18 min), It Started with Trees: Revolt in Gezi Park (29 min), and 
 Resist (30 min).\n\nSharat G. Lin, who witnessed the Turkish government 
 crushing May Day demonstrations following on Gezi Park in 2014, will lead
