 Medicare is the nation’s oldest, largest, and most successful medical 
 program, but it is under severe attack from forces that want to restrict 
 who is eligible, reduce its benefits, cut its funding, and turn it over to 
 private insurance companies.  These challenges threaten its very existence. 
 Meanwhile, the glaring inadequacy of coverage under the Affordable Care Act 
 demonstrates that everyone needs the coverage that Medicare offers, 
 single-payer healthcare.  Come hear the latest news.\n\nWe need to 
 “Protect, Improve, and Expand” both Medicare and its sister pro-gram, 
 Social Security.  Social Security is a related, wildly successful and 
 popular program, facing drastic changes.  Conservatives want to diminish 
 the program, while there is some momentum toward improving it.\n\n\nOWL is 
 the only national membership organization to focus exclusively on critical 
 issues facing women as they age. We work together to improve the status and 
 quality of life for midlife and older women through national, state, and
