 That: The Changing Nature of Work, Social Reproduction, and Collective 
 Action. Friday, April 24th, 11am to 7pm @ CIIS in San Francisco, 
 CA\n\nCo-sponsored by PM Press & KPFA\n\nSan Francisco has become a theater 
 of contradictions: gentrification and eviction, dispossession and injury, 
 adjunctification of university labor, environmental destruction, 
 exploitative sharing economies, and many forms of precarity. At the same 
 time, forms of grassroots struggles and solidarity are emerging with 
 surprising originality and force: rank and file solidarity unionism, 
 anti-eviction networks, movements against police brutality and the prison 
 industrial complex, environmental activism, and adjunct organizing.\n\nTo 
 help examine the current conjuncture, the Anthropology and Social Change 
 department at CIIS is proud to host a one day conference examining 
 contemporary violence and marginalization, precarious labor regimes, and 
 emerging patterns of resistance. Two sessions will be followed by a plenary 
 discussion between participants.\n\nThe conference is free and open to the
