DESCRIPTION:Letting everyone know about a Local Artists' Collective 1 Week Pop-Up show.
Funds going to the Homeless Population of SF affected by gentrification
through Homeless Prenatal as the source of our funds raised. Reception is
 March 28th. \n\nArt+ Drinks + food + music+ local charity:\n\nOrganized by
two native San Franciscan young artists, Quetzal Maucci (an NYU graduate
recently selected to be part of the NY Times Portfolio Review and featured
in the NY Times Exposures Feature) and Layla Durrani (Skidmore Graduate
double major Art and Art History), Born+Raised seeks to create a space to
dialogue for the artists who grew up here and are watching the drastic
shifts occurring in the city.\n\nMarch 28th will be a night to celebrate
those who are still here and experiencing the effects of gentrification as
well as to honor the creativity and excitement of all San Franciscans. We
are excited to create a space to come together and unite at a time when
many spaces do not feel as open to those who grew up here or have been here
for a prolonged amount of time. We hope the show will be an open dialogue
with those who have moved here--we welcome everyone at our show. We see the
artwork as creating a community of those who were raised in San Francisco
proper and uniting those with a love of SF.\n\nAll the artists have grown
up in the city. The show will feature mixed media artwork, paintings and
sculptures from 8 local artists. The work will be hung at Flourish Studio
SF (4th Floor US Bank Building). Admission is free but donations will be
gladly welcomed to assist the population most overlooked in the waves of
gentrification--our homeless residents. The show will remain up for one
week and a percentage from work sold will be going to local charity that
assists the homeless in addition to 100% of donations made at the
show.\n\nWe will be speaking with AIDS Emergency Fund and have already
confirmed with Homeless Prenatal and anticipate these organizations will be
where our donations will be given to with their acceptance of our raised
 funds.\n https://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2015/03/19/18770152.php
