DESCRIPTION:(Campaign video: http://youtu.be/knHdUlTvvwo)\n\nAt Direct Action
Everywhere, we have one -- and only one -- mission: to take nonviolent
direct action until every animal is safe, happy, and free. \n\nOn the
weekend of December 7, 2014, activists across the world will head to places
where animal bodies are being mutilated, sold, and consumed and put that
mission into action. \n\nThis will be our biggest and most important day of
action yet! \n\nStay tuned for more details. \n\n--- \nMODEL ACTION\n\nNote
that there will be two phases to the demonstration. The first phase will
involve street theater. The second phase will be a "normal" demonstration
outside a place of violence. \n\nFor the first phase, we thought we'd
memorialize the first action of DxE, as well as visually showcase the
intense confinement of even so-called free-range farms, in a provocative
action. The main prop you will need is an animal pen, which you can buy
from Amazon here (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000H904WI/). We'll put
up a rehearsal video, however, next week. Here is a rough script. \n\n---
\n\nGUERILLA POEM - ANIMAL PEN\n\nActivists secretly enter a place of
violence. Activists suddenly step forward one-by-one, in front of the space
where animal bodies lie, and deliver a poem. \n\n"In darkness, they
cried.\nIn torment, they died.\nNow bloodied, their bodies lie.\nBut
together we fight.\nTo ensure that their light.\nIs honored, as was their
right."\n\nTogether, they then say: \n\n"It's not food. It's
violence!"\n\nThe remaining activists then set up two pens on each side of
the demonstration to represent the intense confinement in even so-called
humane farms. Activists will enclose themselves within the pen very
tightly, shoulder to shoulder, so that there is no room to move at all.
They will hold banners or signs with animal images (to be sent shortly)
while other activists gather around them with signs that say "It's not
Food. It's Violence." and "Until Every Animal is Free." \n\nA number of
activists will speak from within the pens. \n\n"She was placed in a cage of
flesh." \n"She never stepped outside, or saw the sky."\n"She was destined
to die."\n"She is the face of humane farming." \n"And she is now safe and
happy." \n"We will fight for her until every animal is free." \n\nOne
activist delivers a short speakout. Then suddenly, everyone vanishes.
(Alternatively, march out of the store.) \n\nAfterwards, activists will
continue the demonstration outside. \n\nMODEL SPEAKOUT\n\nTBA\n\n---\nTHE
CAMPAIGN\n\nDxE’s organizers around the world build empowered networks
for animal liberation. Based on the most innovative scholarship on social
change, and the recent astounding successes of the animal rights movement
in countries around the world, DxE’s model focuses on gathering the
kindling for a true social movement to be set ablaze. We do this by: (1)
supporting activists locally in speaking strongly for animals under our
 organizing principles
 (http://directactioneverywhere.com/organizing-principles/); and (2)
connecting those activists with others worldwide to create empowered
networks for change. \n\nAnimal rights activists in 67 cities and 17
countries have united under the banner "It's not Food. It's Violence" since
our campaign started in October 2013. We have received media coverage in
multiple cities. And the primary focus of our campaign in the United States
-- Chipotle Mexican Grill -- has stumbled in the face of our
 demonstrations. See here

 and here
 (http://directactioneverywhere.com/theliberationist/2014/3/29/san-francisco-chipotle-closes-in-face-of-animal-rights-protests).
\n\nBut we need your help -- whether at Chipotle or another place of
violence -- to keep up the momentum. Join us this month as we once again
demand an end to atrocities against innocent animals. \n\n---\n\nMESSAGE
FOR NEW ORGANIZERS\n\nWe are actively looking for organizers all over the
world and invite all forms of participation. While we offer model action
plans, even a simple leafleting outside of an establishment that promotes
violence can be an important contribution to this campaign! It's easy to
plan an action (http://directactioneverywhere.com/resources), and we will
guide you through the process and send you materials, if you have need.
Contact us via facebook or at dxe@directactioneverywhere.com if you'd like
to join.\n\nWhile, in the US, many activists focus on Chipotle -- perhaps
the fastest growing, and most deceptive, animal killer in the world -- we
encourage protests at other locations where animals are used and killed.
Solidarity protests have been held at other fast food chains, grocery
stores, department stores ("It's not Beauty. It's Violence."), and
countless other establishments that profit off of atrocities against
animals. \n\nOur campaign has one and only one message: that every animal
(human or non-human) has an equal right to be safe, happy, and free.

(http://goo.gl/MtGe3j)\n\nDirect Action Everywhere’s mission is to
empower activists to take strong and confident action wherever animals are
being denigrated, enslaved, or killed, and create a world where animal
liberation is a reality. We use creative nonviolent protest to tell the
animals’ story. We are not afraid to push boundaries and even polarize
the debate. We integrate the latest technology and most innovative research
to most effectively advocate for the liberation of our animal friends. And
we use the power of an open and welcoming community to make all of us more
inspired and confident activists. \n\nIn 2013, we executed an international
march with the Earthlings Coalition, which rallied thousands of activists
in 41 cities in 17 countries around the world (http://goo.gl/soJEFf).
