DESCRIPTION:Voices Across the Divide explores the Israeli/Palestinian conflict through
rarely heard personal stories. The film is narrated by its director Alice
Rothchild, an American Jew raised on the tragedies of the Holocaust and the
dream of a Jewish homeland in Israel. Through interviews of Palestinians
in the US, historical and modern day photos and footage, and maps, she
explores Palestinian experiences of loss, occupation, statelessness and
immigration to the US, and she begins to understand the Palestinian
experiences as well as the implications for deeply held cultural beliefs in
the Jewish community. In giving voice to the Palestinians, the film
humanizes the Israeli/Palestinian conflict and gives voice to the Jews
across the divide. Ms. Rothchild, just back from a Health and Human Rights
Delegation to Israel and the West Bank, will introduce the film and lead a
 Q&A following its screening.\n
