DESCRIPTION:The California Kurdish Community Center (CKCC) of Northern California is 
 organizing a fundraising event with live music for the Christian, Yezidi, 
 Muslim, and other refugees that have been fleeing the violence of the 
 terrorist group, Islamic State or ISIS/ISIL. \n\nThe event is open for 
 everyone to attend.\n\nThe event will take place at Spiedo Restaurant in 
 San Mateo, California and will feature music from local Kurdish musicians. 
 The event will be held to raise money for humanitarian aid. The non-profit 
 organization, CKCC, is working directly with organizations in the United 
 States and medical groups in Iraq to help fund efforts to help thousands of 
 refugees that have been left nothing after being forced to flee their homes 
 or risk being massacred by the ISIL terrorist group.\n\nThe Kurdish 
 community in the Bay Area includes members with families that have been 
 directly affected by the crisis in Iraq. These members along with other 
 supporters of the community will be attending the event to spread 
 awareness, share information, and collect donations for humanitarian 
 purposes to help NGOs and other groups in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq help

 94401\n\n\nBackground Information:\n\nISIL invaded cities in Iraq earlier 
 this month and has killed anyone who does not agree with their tactics. The 
 group has particularly targeted and launched a genocidal campaign against 
 religious minorities in Iraq such as Christians and Yezidis. Many of these 
 minorities along with others at risk have fled into the relatively safe 
 Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Kurdish forces with US air support have been 
 battling ISIL terrorists to defend their region against the expanding 
 threat.\n\nMeanwhile, an increasing number of innocent people have fled to 
 Iraqi Kurdistan  for refuge where they await medical attention as well as 
 basic necessities such as food, water, and clothing. The Kurdistan Regional 
 Government is exhausting their emergency funds to look after the refugees 
 and many foreign governments have pledged funds to help with the 
 humanitarian crisis. However, with an estimated 1.2 million refugees from 
 both Iraq and Syria, the funds are still limited and the region is still in 
 desperate need of help through donations. \n
