DESCRIPTION:The Board of Directors of the Arab-American Cultural Center of Silicon
Valley invites you to attend an informative session on the most recent
Israeli assault on Gaza\n\nOrigins of the Crisis in Gaza\n\nAs the Gaza
Strip endures its third major attack in five years, people around the world
are calling for a cease fire and an end to the suffocating blockade. Was
this latest carnage triggered by Palestinian rockets, Israeli settler
violence, or by Israeli efforts to block a Palestinian unity government?
We will address the root causes of the violence and discuss both how to
assist the people of Gaza and what we can do to bring about a just
resolution.\n\nDr. Salem Ajluni is an economist and lived in Gaza in
1996-2001. He served as a consultant to the United Nations in Palestine,
and worked for the Palestinian Ministry of Planning.\n\nDr. Sharat G. Lin
is a writer on the Middle East, former president of the San Jose Peace and
Justice Center, and an originator of the Cairo Declaration on global
BDS.\n\nThe program will be followed by a short letter-writing session to
elected officials and the media. Writing materials and addresses will be
 provided.\n\nFree and open to the public\nWheelchair accessible\n\nEndorsed
by the San José Peace and Justice Center\n
