 corruption of American politics is so complete that we can no longer deny 
 the truth: democracy is dead in America. Plutocracy, government by and for 
 the wealthy, is here.\n\nThe voices of the 99% have been silenced by the 
 deafening demands of moneyed interests. The principle of “one person, one 
 vote” has been quietly abolished in favor of the corporate mantra, “one 
 dollar, one vote”. As long as this corruption lasts, real change won’t 
 come. It’s time for the millions of Americans who believe in true 
 political equality to stand up and fight.\n\nFrom the international "March 
 Against Corruption" protests, to the statewide New Hampshire Rebellion, to 
 civil disobedience in the chamber of the Supreme Court itself, more and 
 more people are stepping up and joining the struggle to reclaim democracy 
 for the 99%. Our movement is growing and our message is spreading.\n\nNow 
 it’s time to raise the stakes and take the fight for democracy to a whole 
 new level.\n\nOn Saturday, May 17th, we gathered in Los Angeles to begin a 
 480-mile march over the mountains and across the valleys of California on 
 our way to the capitol in Sacramento, all to bring a simple demand to the 
 political leaders of our nation’s largest state: publicly acknowledge the 
 crisis of corruption and take immediate action to end it.\n\nHelp us 
 amplify our demand by adding your name to the petition we'll be delivering 
 at the capitol!\n\nAs a first step, we will demand that the California 
 legislature take three urgent actions:\n\nIssue a formal call for a federal 
 Constitutional Convention to propose an Amendment outlawing big money 
 corruption by passing Assembly Joint Resolution 1 (AJR1).\nGive 
 California's voters the chance to formally instruct the US Congress to 
 propose such an Amendment and the California legislature to ratify it by 
 passing Senate Bill 1272 (SB1272).\nStart reining in unlimited, anonymous 
 big money in elections by passing the DISCLOSE Act to require the top 
 donors to be prominently revealed in every political ad they fund.\n\nIf we 
 arrive in Sacramento after our 37-day march and our demands have not been 
 fully met, then we will nonviolently occupy the capitol until they are. We 
 the people will no longer stand idly by while our government is bought and 
 sold to the highest bidder. We will force our political leaders to come 
 over to the side of the people and push for the end to big money corruption 
 and the beginning of a representative democracy that is dependent upon the 
 people alone.\n\n\nA call for fundamental change from California will send 
 a message of hope throughout the country that something big is coming, a 
 movement of the 99% that the people can proudly call their own. Join us,
