 prison-industrial complex, and civil liberties.\n\nDr. Sharat G. Lin writes 
 on global political economy, labor migration, and public health. He is a 
 contributing author to the book Studies in Inequality and Social Justice 
 (2009) with a chapter on the popular movement for immigration reform. He 
 has visited the U.S.-Mexico border over a dozens times in recent years. He 
 is currently a research fellow at the San Jose Peace and Justice
