 Forest \nAs we strive to understand our American wilderness and struggle 
 with its\nmanagement, we are becoming ever more aware that this is a 
 landscape shaped by\nand with its human inhabitants. For untold thousands 
 of years native people have\npracticed a variety of land management methods 
 that kept catastrophic fires in check,\nproduced a healthy mosaic of 
 habitats and promoted the well being of plant and\nanimal 
 species.\n\nDirections:\nthe 210 freeway in La Canada, take Angeles Crest 
 Highway north to mile marker\n49.69 and turn left into Chilao Campground; 
 follow red and white signs to\nChilao School.\n\nFree Admission - Donations 
 Appreciated\nKat will also be bringing a variety of native foods to sample 
 - we welcome our guests\nto bring food items for a pot-luck style 
 lunch.\n\nWe hope to bring together forestry professionals, Native American 
 people, and enthusiasts of the planet in general.  Chialo School is a 
 historic one room school house owned and operated by the non profit group 
 Redbird.\n\nWe are located in the heart of the Angeles National Forest on 
 the edge of the Station Fire burn.  Please dress casual and if you think 
 you might like to walk, hike or bicycle in the area, please bring 
 appropriate footwear/sunscreen/insect repellent\nOptional hike along Silver 
 Moccasin Trail\n(weather permitting and guests willing) in the
