 Community\nSaturday, May 17, 2:30 - 4:00 PM\nBernal Heights Community

http://goo.gl/maps/v3n6b\n\nPlease join Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center
& San Franciscans for Healthcare, Housing, Jobs & Justice to: \n\n *
learn about recent cuts at St Luke’s Hospital, \n\n * discuss
community needs for the new St. Luke’s, and \n\n * learn the
community benefits won in the campaign keep St. Luke’s open. \n\nPlease
bring questions and find out how we move forward from this great
success.\n\nThe battle to save St. Luke's Hospital from being closed by
Sutter Health and CPMC was won against overwhelming odds, and a textbook
example of successful collaboration of labor and community groups. (For an
interesting 15-minute in-depth video investigation of this fight, see
http://tinyurl.com/k7jzkyd .)\n\nNow, however, begins fight the force CPMC
and Sutter to honor the commitments they made to St. Luke's. Already, CPMC
has made cuts and issued statements signaling an intention to return to
their past policies of racist medical redlining combined with a new twist:
neighborhood gentrification. As the only hospital besides SF General in
the poor, minority, medically-underserved SouthEast sector of San
Francisco, St. Luke's must be kept alive, thriving, and configured to meet
community needs.\n\nPlease join us at the Community Briefing.\n
