DESCRIPTION: Peninsula Grace Notes is pleased to announce a benefit concert for Duo Duo 
 Animal Welfare Organization on Sunday April 27th, 3:00 p.m. at the Foster 
 City Community Center Wind Room, on 1000 Hillsdale Boulevard. Free 
 admission. Donation box at the door, and 100% of proceeds will go to stop 
 the gruesome "Dog Meat Festival".  It takes place every year in June, in 
 Guangxi, China, where 10,000 dogs are butchered. Most are stolen from their 
 homes. Duo Duo Animal Welfare Project works with local Chinese animal 
 activists to stop this barbaric event and also to educate the public and 
 raise awareness of this horrible cruelty.\n\nThe program features works by 
 Beethoven, Schubert, Liszt, Dvorak and Handel-Halvorsen.\n\nPerformers 
 include Yun Jie Liu, Associate Principal Violist San Francisco Symphony, 
 Emily Liu, Principal Violist San Francisco Youth Symphony, Échappé String 
 Quartet, winner of 2012 Mondavi Center Young Artists Competition, and Alex 
 Zhu, a 12-year old violin whiz who recently received one of the top prizes 
 in the 2014 Menuhin International Violin Competition. He is also 1st prize 
 winner of the Mondavi Center Young Artists Competition and Andrea 
 Postacchini Violin Competition in Italy. Also in the program are pianists 
 performing solo, 4 hands, and 8 hands.\n
