DESCRIPTION:Join us for a RALLY and MARCH from the Quarry of Campus to Oakes 
 Amphitheater; including Testimonials at the ending with keynote speaker, 
 Queen Jasmeen. During this night, participants are able to hold 
 candles/posters they made earlier during the week. \n\nUCSC students, 
 staff, and faculty, as well as Santa Cruz community survivors, their 
 supporters, and allies of all ages, races, religions, sexualities, 
 backgrounds, and genders are welcome to attend this free event and join us 
 as we work toward a violence-free world. Rain or shine!\n\nQueen Jasmeen, 
 otherwise known as Jasmine Schlafke, is a local queer spoken word artist 
 dedicated to social change. She is the executive curator of the Legendary 
 Santa Cruz Slam and teaches poetry to over 800 local youth annually. 
 Jasmeen is the 1999 recipient of the National Jefferson Award for 
 outstanding voluntarism for her work with teen parents. She looks forward 
 to sharing what keeps her activated through poetry.\n\nTake Back the Night 
 first appeared in Europe in 1976 and has continued throughout the world as 
 a sign of empowerment for women, men and children. Events at UCSC have 
 occurred over the last 33 years to raise awareness about sexual violence 
 and to support survivors in their healing process.\n\nThis event is free 
 and open to survivors, their supporters, and allies.\n\n\nOther events in
