DESCRIPTION:This film series is a fund raiser for the National Post\n Office
Collaborate and the Save the Berkeley Post Office \n Committee. They are
working to keep our Berkeley Post Office\n from being sold by the USPS. The
Collaborate was \n successful in saving a post office building through
legal action \n when a preliminary injunction was issued against the sale
of the \n historic Stamford, CT Post Office. We may have to pursue legal\n
action to save the Berkeley Post Office. Unfortunately, legal \n action is
quite costly and funds must be raised to continue. \n To donate on line,
 please go to \n
 https://nationalpostofficecollaborate.nationbuilder.com/donate.\n\nThis
series of 1930s New Deal films gives us a picture of \n federal efforts
that improved lives of Americans during the\n Great Depression. Tonight,
the first film shows New Deal artists at \n work in Post Offices and many
public buildings. They include \n Bernard Zakheim's Coit Tower murals and
other New Deal artists\n who were interviewed when they were alive. Many
became \n famous in later years.\n The 2nd film is about hope for the
future and building community\n And shows people engaged in cooperative
farming in Texas and \n Alaska, building new homes, and their experience
with rural \n electrification. Dick Powell sings the grand
finale.\n\nSponsored by the BFUU Social Justice Ctee & Save the Berkeley
Post Office\nSuggested donation $5-$10. No one turned away. \nWheelchair
 accessible.\n\nPh:510-275-4272\n\nFor occasional email notices of
