DESCRIPTION:Join artist David Tomb for an informal walk through and discussion of his
art exhibition, Endangered Birds of the Philippines, at the SF Public
Library's Environmental Center. David's talk will focus on conservation of
the Great Philippine Eagle and other endangered birds and he'll answer
questions about his luminous mixed media works. \n\nFor more info and to
purchase prints benefiting the Philippine Eagle Foundation visit
 http://jeepneyprojects.org/jpw-store.\n\nTomb's works are colorful paper
assemblages with subtle low-relief elements that convey the complex space
and mysterious jungle terrain of the Philippine island of Mindanao. Through
this project, Tomb and Jeepney Projects Worldwide bring attention to the
challenges these noble birds face in order to survive and share a
sustainable future with an ever-growing Filipino population.\n\nDavid Tomb
is a co-founder of Jeepney Projects. He has exhibited in galleries,
universities, and museums nationally and internationally and has been
published widely in periodicals including New York Times, New Yorker, and
Harpers. Tomb's work is represented in numerous public collections
including Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, Huntington Library, and
Consulate General of the United States in Tijuana and Ciudad Juarez.\n
