DESCRIPTION:Bay Area activists from Code Pink, World Can't Wait, Veterans for Peace and 
 others will protest the kidnapping last week of Kareem Khan, a U.S. drone 
 victim, under very suspicious circumstances.  \n \nThe protest will be held 
 at the U.S. State Department building at 1 Market Street, San Francisco 
 from 12 noon to 1 pm on Friday, Feb. 14, 2014. \n \nKareem Khan's brother 
 and teenage son were killed in a drone attack in North Waziristan in 2009.  
 He has been seeking legal accountability ever since.\n \nKareem was 
 scheduled to testify about drone strikes in 3 European parliaments this 
 week (Germany, Great Britain and the Netherlands).  Just days before his 
 planned departure he was kidnapped last Wednesday by men in Pakistani 
 police uniforms!   His whereabouts are completely unknown.\n \nOn Tuesday 
 Amnesty International said: "We are concerned that prominent human rights 
 activist Kareem Khan may have been disappeared to prevent him from giving 
 testimony overseas about US drone strikes in Pakistan."\n \nToby Blome of 
 S.F. Code Pink met Kareem as part of a Code Pink/ Veterans for Peace 
 delegation to Pakistan in 2012, and will be speaking at this 
 demonstration.\n \nA giant model Predator Drone will join the rally to 
 represent the horrors that people in North Waziristan, Pakistan face daily, 
 with drones flying in their skies 24/7. \n \n“We demand an immediate 
 investigation and answers from the U.S. government, and under such 
 mysterious circumstances hold the U.S. accountable should they take no 
 significant action,” says Toby Blome, CodePink organizer.  “It’s an 
 abomination that a man whose family members were wrongfully killed by U.S. 
 drone strikes should face such brutal treatment for merely seeking legal 
 justice.  We demand Kareem be released!”\n
