Rovics has carried on the venerable American musical tradition of writing
and performing ballads in tribute to the working men and women who built
the nation. He wrote the “Minimum Wage Strike,” “No One is
Illegal” and “Shut Them Down.” David is performing at the historic
Redstone Labor Temple on its hundredth anniversary. Hear samples of
David's songs at http://tinyurl.com/6f4fr5 \n\nThe Redstone Labor Temple
opened in February 1914, and was the home of the San Francisco Labor
Council and the city’s main labor unions. It was the site of meetings and
planning for the 1934 General Strike. \n\nThe San Francisco Living Wage
Coalition is a grassroots movement of low-wage workers and labor unions,
community organizations and religious congregations fighting for economic
justice. It generated campaigns that led to a number of unique local wage
and benefit laws, including the highest minimum wage in the country.\n\nFor
