DESCRIPTION:"Public Safety and Private Lives"\n\nLeague of Women Voters of Oakland to
hold discussion about Oakland surveillance.\n\n"How does a city like
Oakland respond to residents' demands for more effective crime prevention
and reduction while protecting everyone's civil liberties? How will the
Domain Awareness Center impact Oakland? How much surveillance is enough --
or too much -- to enhance our law enforcement capabilities? Bring your
ideas and a friend to discuss these important issues with knowledgeable
 resource people and fellow
 Oaklanders."\n\nhttp://www.lwvoakland.org/VOTER-January-2014.html#hot\n\nThis
was not posted by the League of Women Voters of Oakland but reposted in the
hope to get more residents of Oakland interested in the many ways the City
of Oakland is taking away the citizen's rights without their input and most
definitely without their vote. It's one thing for the council to vote to
approve sewer repair contracts or modify city budgets, it's another to take
away rights guaranteed by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.\n
