DESCRIPTION:Child Advocates of Silicon Valley (www.BeMyAdvocate.org) seeks committed 
 community volunteers who want to make a difference in the lives of abused 
 and neglected children. Our volunteers work one-on-one with children in the 
 foster care system, helping them thrive and find safe, permanent homes. 
 Each of the agency's highly-trained volunteers is appointed by the court to 
 work with an abused or neglected child, acting as a mentor and advocate for 
 the child's best interests.\n\nChild Advocates is the only nonprofit 
 organization appointed by the Santa Clara County dependency court to 
 represent the needs of abused and neglected children. We are one of the 
 largest affiliates of the National Court Appointed Special Advocates 
 program (CASA). The organization has served thousands of children since its 
 founding in 1986.\n\nOur mission is to provide stability and hope to abused 
 and neglected children by being a powerful voice in their lives. There are 
 almost 200 children in our local foster care systems waiting for an
